Rich gold in the glass.

Apricot, peach, orange, lychee, honey on a very rich nose, which faded with some time.

Medium weight, honey, roses, rather viscous in the mouth, peach, lychee, bitter notes, not much acidity to speak of, rather flat and lifeless.

Bitter notes, light honey, light peach and tea notes on the finish.

Rather disappointing and not nearly as good as a previous bottle.

Purchased at $25.95 (Canadian).

How long ago did you drink that previous bottle?

Not sure. Perhaps three or four years ago.

Are you suggesting that I held onto this one too long?

I have no experience with the wine, but generally speaking Gewurztraminer does not provide wines with much acid and therefore is not a candidate for mid-term aging. And of course the ZH style only exaggerates that dynamic. So I wasn't surprised when I read your note. Although again, that is generally speaking. I don't have experience with this wine.
