Ch. Joguet 1998 Vin de Chinon Rosé ($12.99)
Clear bright salmon color. Pleasant herbal and berrylike aromas, full and rich. Bone-dry berry fruit and tart, zingy acidity; fine with food, although almost too cymbal-clash acidic for comfort when it's sipped alone. U.S. importer: Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant, Berkeley, Calif. (March 10, 2000)
FOOD MATCH: Fresh tuna steaks pan-grilled with a crust of fennel seed and black pepper.

All my wine-tasting reports are consumer-oriented. In order to maintain objectivity and avoid conflicts of interest, I purchase all the wines I rate at my own expense in retail stores. |
