Castello d'Albola 1995 Chianti Classico Riserva ($21.99)
Dark ruby, with earthy black-cherry and spicy oak aromas, characteristic Chianti. Mouth-filling flavors, full and bright; tart cherries and crisp acidity, balanced and structured. Very fine Chianti, will benefit from cellar time. U.S. importer: Seagram Chateau & Estates Wines Co., NYC. (May 21, 2000)
FOOD MATCH: Just right with a T-bone pan-grilled Florentine style (seared in a hot, dry skillet).

All my wine-tasting reports are consumer-oriented. In order to maintain objectivity and avoid conflicts of interest, I purchase all the wines I rate at my own expense in retail stores. |
