Chateau Recougne 1994 Bordeaux Superieur ($8.99) Continuing my recent inquiry into the possibility of decent low-end Bordeaux in a time when the pricier labels are soaring into the stratosphere, I come tonight to a '94 Bordeaux Superieur. Not bad, but I'm afraid it's not up to the '95 and '96 Cotes de Bourgs of the past two nights. Dark ruby in color. Spicy oak and blackcurrant aromas. Ripe and juicy black-fruit flavor, soft and accessible; drops off rather quickly in a short finish. OK table wine for a low-end price, but not worth any more than I paid for it. Importer: Classic Wine Import Inc., Boston. (Sept. 17, 1997)
