Today's Wine Tasting Note

This one's about as expensive as a pink wine gets, but it's also about as good as a pink wine gets, so the tradeoff seems fair. Frankly, I can't recall ever having a disappointing wine from Sanford.

Sanford 1996 Santa Barbara County (California) Pinot Noir - Vin Gris ($11.99)
Clear salmon color. Full and fresh aroma full of elusive scents -- dried cherries and candied fruit and medicinal herbs, delicious. Full and rich on the palate, herbal and cherry-berry fruit, bone dry and crisply acidic. Delightful wine, with much more character than you'll find in most rosés.

FOOD MATCH: Bojangle's Cajun-spicy fried chicken, lukewarm out of the takeout box. A perfect marriage!
