Chateau-Fortia 1995 Chateauneuf-du-Pape ($22.99)Dark ruby. Peppery and herbal aromas -- herbes de Provence and fresh basil -- with a touch of discreet "barnyard." Full-bodied, almost "chunky," mouth-filling and textured. Black pepper and sour cherries, with the herbal aromas from the nose playing counterpoint. A fine, full Chateauneuf in the old style, as you'd expect from Chateau-Fortia. U.S. importer: Wines of France Inc., Mountainside, N.J.; Alain Junguenet Selection. (Dec. 5, 1998)
FOOD MATCH: Roast lamb.
